Everyone Has Value. Everyone Deserves Love. Everyone Is Creative.
EDUCATION
I hold a Master’s in Special Education from Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado where I focused my studies on Culturally Responsive Teaching and Universal Design for Learning. I am also a Wilson Reading System (WRS) Level 1 Certified Literacy Coach, am Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) certified, and a Level 1 certified Mediator with Phoenix Strategies Mediation and Conflict Resolution. Having worked with Indigenous student populations, Multiracial Students, and English Language Learners, I believe that access to a quality education and literacy is a human right. As an educator, it is my job to make learning environments as inclusive and adaptive as possible to accommodate different kinds of minds, learning styles, cultures, and identities. I am passionate about hyping up my students to achieve their greatest potential, to develop curiosity for learning, and to be proud of who they are as individuals.
CEREMONY
For the last 13 years, I have had the privilege of being a non-denominational, multi-faith, and agnostic wedding officiant and ceremonialist, performing over 100 weddings, elopements, and vow renewal ceremonies. It has been such an honor to be invited into so many people’s lives and to be entrusted with such an important responsibility. Officiating has taken me to some really beautiful places, and I've met wonderful people from all over the world. I love supporting couples of all walks of life to feel empowered and excited about creating ceremonial experiences that are unforgettable, unique, authentic, and inspiring. As an ally to the LGBTQIA+ community, I support Marriage Equality - honoring every person's right to love who they love and to marry who they wish to marry.
CREATIVITY
I’ve been making art since childhood. Inspiration comes through me and I tend to just let it. My creativity comes from Spirit, and I come from a rich lineage of artists and creatives - my grandmothers, great-grandmothers, grandfather and great-grandfather, aunts, uncles, multiple cousins… all very talented painters, seamstresses, photographers, builders, designers, and makers. I have been lucky enough to have supported myself as an artist, illustrator, writer, performer, and instructor throughout multiple chapters of my life, and I have experience using a wide variety of mediums. I enjoy teaching and inspiring creativity in others as much as I love making art myself, and I truly believe that everyone has the capacity to be creative.
